Alfa Vaporizer Review

If you’re looking for a portable that’ll provide some rapid and quick puffs but still produce fairly good quality vapor, the Alfa has got you covered. Unlike quite a few other portables that require long steady draws in order to get some good vapor, the Alfa vaporizer uses a vaporizing system that allows you to take quick draws to achieve the same effect.

One feature that really makes it stand out is the extra heating pin located in the center of its oven. This heating pin, which sits directly in the center of your oven packed blend, helps ensure more even and complete vaporization. While most vapes will first vaporize the outer perimeter of your blend while slowly working towards the center, the Alfa vaporizes from the outside as well from within. The result? Efficient vaporization of your dried blend.

Like all vaporizers, this little pocket-friendly portable does require you to keep up with some basic maintenance which entails regularly cleaning the oven and vapor pathway. In order to do so, all you need to do is remove the mouthpiece, open the oven, and then slide a pipe cleaner down inside to push the screen out the other end. Ideally, soak your pipe cleaner in a bit of isopropyl alcohol because it’ll help with the whole cleaning process. Once the screen is out, you basically want to scrub the vapor path and the oven itself in order to clean out any residue that has built up inside. On the upside, you don’t have to do this often and if you fail to keep up with it you won’t notice much of a decline in performance like you would with some other portables out there.

The rechargeable battery on the Alfa vape lasts for roughly 60 to 90 minutes, which is pretty good for a portable. But on the downside, it does take quite a while to recharge – about 3.5 to 4 hours. But this is countered in part by the pass-through charging technology that allows it to be used while charging.

Controlling the temperature is extremely easy. There’s a rotary dial that you spin to select the temperature of your choosing, and while the options are limited, the upside is that there’s no real complexity here so finding a vaping temperature that works for you won’t prove to be much of a hassle. Having said all this, there are a couple of interesting temp settings, so we’ll get into that next.

The basic settings are low (LO), medium (MID), and high (HI). But there are also a couple of other options that are quite interesting. First, there’s the “A/T” option which translates into Auto-by-Time. This setting basically increases the vaporizing temperature over the course of a 20-minute session. Then there’s the “A/P” setting which stands for Auto-by-Puff, a setting in which the vaporizer actually detects your puffs and increases the temperature after each one until it reaches the highest setting, which is about 428 degrees Fahrenheit.

The overall vapor production is just a skosh above average in our book. With that said, the vapor is pretty good, it vaporizes fairly efficiently, and it doesn’t have a ton of draw resistance, so it’s pretty fun to use. It’s not the densest vapor we’ve ever come across, but at the end of the day, it’s definitely good enough. Those looking for a portable that packs more of a vapor punch are probably better off taking a look at the Crafty, Mighty, and IQ vaporizers, but all three cost quite a bit more. For anyone on a budget, the GoBoof Alfa is a good alternative.
