The Mighty+ vaporizer by Storz and Bickel is a powerful portable with digital controls that vapes dry herb, concentrates, and oils. In this Mighty Plus review we pull no punches, revealing what we don’t like about this mighty vape as well as what we do. Size Matters (or does it?)

Kicking off with the one thing about the Mighty+ we don’t like – we’re not a huge fan of its size. Compared to other modern portables it’s about a half-skosh too large. Now, don’t get us wrong, it’s not THAT large, but let’s just say your gf won’t be able to pocket this one in a pair of skinny jeans.

Now, with that out of the way, we can move on to say the new and improved Mighty+ ticks every other box, especially in terms of vapor quality and quantity. Mighty as an Erupting Volcano?

Now, on to our review. For those already familiar with the Volcano (review) by Storz & Bickel, it will come as no surprise that their beastly portable, the Mighty+, lives up to its name. We remain as impressed as ever. Compared to other portables we’ve tested, Mighty+ vapor production is unmatched, producing some of the densest most flavorful clouds extant. You would have to step up to the Volcano or S&B’s Plenty (review) to find a more prolific cloud machine.

Precision Temperature Control

Controlling the temperature of a portable is sometimes a bit tricky. With the Mighty+ you just punch in the desired temp on the digital display and sally forth. Set the default temperature anywhere between 104 – 410°F (40 – 210°C) and add Boost or SuperBoost when you want to extract every remaining molecule of vapor at the end of your session, or when you just want to hit her hard in midstream.

Convection and Conduction

Patented hybrid heating technology allows the Mighty vape to function simultaneously as both a convection and conduction vaporizer. This feature is why the Mighty+ can produce full-on thunderhead clouds right out of the gate. Experienced vaping enthusiasts know this is not usually the case, as most portables produce fairly thin wisps on the first draw. Not until the second or possibly third draw does the average portable produce a full head of steam. Not so with the Mighty+ or its little brother the Crafty+ (review) as both utilize nearly identical heating mechanisms.

With the Mighty+ and Crafty+ the first draw is full flavored and full bore. The following video masterfully illustrates the internal heating mechanics which produce this feat for the Mighty+.

The Oven Chamber

Whether you call it the heating chamber or filling chamber, the place where you pack the payload is really an oven. S&B has upgraded the previous aluminum oven with a ceramic coating claimed to enhance performance. We cannot verify how much performance enhancement is due to the ceramic coating, but we can attest to it being easier to clean and less prone toward staining.

It takes about one minute to warm up the oven which holds between 0.25 and 0.3 grams of dry herb depending on the grind. You’ll find that a fully loaded chamber will produce up to a dozen lungsful. Yep, that’s a word. Didn’t make it up.

Dry Blends and Dabs

If you like to occasionally switch things up between dry blends, dabs, or oils, no problem.  The Mighty+ has got you covered with its dosing capsules and complementary liquipads which fit nicely inside the capsules. Both accessories come with the unit, but if you get caught out and about without, do not despair. Simply sandwich a dab or drop between two thin layers of herb for an exquisite effect.

Battery Life and Plug-in Power

Once again, the Mighty+ lives up to its name in terms of power supplied to run this impressive device. It runs on two 18650 lithium-ion batteries rated at 4600 mAh that support up to 90 minutes of continual use. Depending on your style, you can get from eight to ten sessions per charge – about double the performance of the otherwise nearly identical Crafty+ which has just one battery.

Unfortunately, larger storage capacity requires more charge time so it takes up to 3 hours to fully charge using standard charging. However, with the S&B Supercharger you can fill her up to 80% in forty minutes. Check out the Supercharger here along with other Mighty vape accessories.

Unlike the Crafty, when the Mighty’s batteries are fully drained you can plug her in and vape immediately using pass-through power, but only when charging through the Supercharger. The Mighty+ also provides more in-home flexibility with a six-foot power cord as standard vs. 2.5 feet for the Crafty+. S&B portables are not engineered with replaceable batteries but should you ever encounter a problem the manufacturer will arrange replacement either under warranty or for a reasonable charge depending on the circumstances.
