Wulf Vape LX Vaporizer Review
The Wulf Vape LX by Wulf Mods is a low cost portable vaporizer designed with ease of use and quality of vapor in mind. For anyone looking for a portable vape pen with digital temperature controls, look no further – the LX is where it’s at. If you want to buy it now, you can buy it here. What we really like about this little vape is the fact that it’s a great entry level vaporizer for anyone looking to get into vaping for the first time. Between its low cost and ease of use, it serves as a practical solution for anyone who is interested in vaporizing by not ready to commit to an expensive top of the line portable vaporizer like the Crafty or IQ.
In order to use it, all you have to do is push the mouthpiece forward to expose the ceramic heating chamber, insert your finely ground blend, reattach the mouthpiece, wait for it to heat up, and then begin taking nice long draws of potent vapor. When loading the oven, be sure to pack it somewhat lightly or loosely in order to allow air to flow freely through your blend, otherwise you’ll feel like you’re sucking through a small straw (draw resistance).
To activate the heating element, simply press the power button five times in quick succession. After doing so, the OLED display will show the word “HEAT,” which means heating in process. Once it’s ready, it’ll read “WARM,” indicating the oven is heated up to the desired vaping temperature and ready to be used.
Adjusting the temperature is easy. Once it’s on, simply use the up and down arrows located on top of and below the power button to adjust the temperature up and down. By default, the vaporizing temperature is set at 375 degrees Fahrenheit, but we prefer to use it at a slightly higher temperature so don’t be afraid to crank it up a bit to suit your preference. Unlike many other vaporizers, the Wulf LX offers a vaping spectrum ranging as high as 435 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 15 degrees warmer than what seems to be the average (420F) of most vapes we’ve tested.
One downside to its design is that it can’t be used when the battery is completely drained, whereas some portable vaporizers, like the Mighty vape, offer pass-through charging technology allowing them to be plugged in and used even when their batteries are completely drained. But seeing as the battery life is pretty decent, this really isn’t much of a problem and, for the cost of the vape, it’s a minor deficiency we can overlook.
In comparison to the G Pen Elite, a somewhat comparable vape pen that is also designed for dried blends, we prefer the LX. For one, the LX is less expensive. But seeing as cost isn’t everything, we also took some other variables into account when trying to decide between the two and found that when it comes right down to the most important variable, the LX produces superior vapor.
Getting some good draws out of the LX takes a tiny bit of practice. In order to pull out some solid vapor we like to bump the temperature to about 420F and let it roast for about 20 seconds before taking our first draw. If you follow this system, we’re quite confident you’ll enjoy the results.
Beyond the tasty vapor, low cost, digital temperature controls, and ease of use, there’s one more aspect we really appreciate: the heat up time. While some vapes take minutes to heat up, the Wulf Vape LX heats up in a matter of seconds. In less than 30 seconds, it goes from room temperature to vaping temperature. And with a heat up time like that, we can’t help but find ourselves quite fond of this compact little vape.
